"Do the things we can't remember still exist?"

Your eyes flicker open, slowly, to be greeted by the faintest glow of light illuminating an unfamiliar space- a dusty, dilapidated hospital room. The building's age is immediately apparent in the cracked, peeling walls and rusted medical equipment, long silenced and out of use. The only immediate source of light comes from the soft radiance of the moon filtering through the window at your bedside, alluring, almost comforting. Try as you might to listen for any muffle of activity within the hospital walls, everything remains unnaturally still, as though suspended in a time long forgotten.

You eventually take notice of the finer details of the room. Lamps flanking your bedside have worn shades decorated with the phases of the moon. In fact, upon inspection, almost everything around you appears thoughtfully embellished with lunar insignias and carvings. The clothes you thought you had been wearing have been replaced with a simple gown, pale in color and cool to the touch.

In the dim glow of the night, an old clipboard on the desk beside your bed catches your eye. There's a paper attached to it. Picking it up, the yellowed, typed paper reads:

"Welcome _______,

Due to your excessive and growing delusions of a fantasy world you believe to be reality, you have been admitted to the Rogetsu Sanatorium for the surveillance and treatment of Lunar Sedata Syndrome.

We understand that you may feel confused and emotional at this time, and we urge our patients to do what they can to remain calm. The radio on the table beside your bed can be used to signal the Nurses or other patients residing within the hospital. Should you need Nurse attention, please simply call out for assistance.

We hope that you find your stay comfortable at Rogetsu Sanatorium and Haibara Hospital.

Lunar Abyssus is a pan-fandom survival-horror RPG with a premise based heavily from Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, with some differences. Upon arrival to Rogetsu Island, your character is afflicted with LSS, a mental ailment that gradually deteriorates an individual's memories and sense of self, eventually leading to instability and death. For any hope of survival, characters must explore the Island- where spirits of its lost inhabitants still wander in madness- to unravel the mystery behind the disease and the Island's twisted history. Will you fight to hold onto your existence, or lose yourself with the phases of the moon?
